The monkeypox outbreak refers to the global spread of the monkeypox virus.
This outbreak began in 2022 and saw a significant increase in cases outside of the regions where the virus is typically endemic (Central and West Africa).

Treatment: There is no specific treatment for monkeypox, and most cases resolve on their own. However, antiviral medications may be used to treat severe cases.   

Prevention: Vaccination is the most effective way to prevent monkeypox. There are vaccines available that can provide protection against the virus.   
The World Health Organization (WHO) and other health organizations have been closely monitoring the outbreak and working to contain its spread.
